Mary’s debut feature film ALICE, DARLING, premiered at a Gala screening at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2022. The film was shot in the lakes in Northern Ontario, Canada, starring Anna Kendrick and Wunmi Mosaku, financed by Lionsgate US, and written by Alanna Francis for Babe Nation Films and Elevation Pictures.
She directed an episode of HBO and Bad Wolf show INDUSTRY, written by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay and three episodes of new TV show TRACES for Red Productions, written by Amelia Bullmore and starring Laura Fraser, Molly Windsor and Daniel Compston.
Born and based in London, Mary was the David Lean Scholar on the Directing Fiction Course at The National Film and Television School, and her short films have screened at festivals internationally, winning the Best Directing Prize at St Petersburg IYFF and nominated for Best Short at Raindance Film Festival and Miami ISFF. Mary’s short Handprint won a Young Director’s Award at the Cannes Lions Festival.
Mary is also attached to direct a feature adaptation of THE GIRL IN THE RED COAT, Kate Hamer’s best-selling novel, written by Felix Harrison, and produced by Hilary Bevan Jones.
