Roger Williams was shortlisted for a Writers’ Guild Award in 2018 for his ground breaking crime drama series BANG. The series – which he created and wrote – won the Celtic Media Festival award for Best Drama series and a New York Film and TV Festivals medal of excellence. It was produced in association with Artists Studio for S4C and distributor Banijay Rights.
Roger started his screenwriting career with the BAFTA-award nominated drama series TALES FROM PLEASURE BEACH for BBC2 and went on to win BAFTA screenwriting awards for his work on Welsh language dramas TIR and CAERDYDD. He created the Celtic Media Festival award winning drama series GWAITH/CARTREF for S4C and has written drama for broadcasters including Channel 4 and CBBC.
Roger’s first feature film FEAST will shoot later this year as part of the BFI and Ffilm Cymru scheme Cinematic.
Roger established the production company Joio in 2014 and has produced and executive produced a number of drama and factual productions including GALESA, a film in Spanish and Welsh filmed on location in Argentina.
