Abi is a graduate of Channel 4’s 4Screenwriting programme (2018) and the BBC’s TV Drama Writers’ Programme (2021), and her TV crime thriller LONG LOST was on the Brit List in 2022. She has worked in many writers’ rooms and is developing a broad range of original TV projects.
Her projects to date include high-octane crime thrillers, character-led dramas, classic adaptations, historical dramas, and horror, fantasy and science fiction projects. She has written the first four episodes of new historical audio drama DARK HARBOUR and recently penned a major adaptation of ANNE OF GREEN GABLES starring Catherine O’Hara, Sandra Oh and Victor Garber, both for Audible.
As a playwright, Abi graduated from the Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse Young Writers’ Programme in 2010. Since then, her work for stage has been performed in venues across the UK. She is regularly commissioned by LGBT History Month to write new work for the stage to shed light on forgotten LGBT stories.
As a fiction writer, Abi won the Cambridge Short Story Prize in 2020, and her short stories have been widely published. Her debut short story collection Monstrous Longing came out in October 2023 with Dahlia Books.
