Jack Cheshire

Jack Cheshire is an award-winning writer, director, producer and EP with an enviable track record in devising, developing and delivering innovative, commercial content and formats. As the BBC’s Head of New Comedy (2008–2014), Jack worked across genres and platforms, creating and producing the BAFTA & Rose D’Or nominated sketch show The Wrong Door for BBC Three; Unwrapped with Miranda Hart for BBC Two; & the BAFTA-Nominated sitcom Big Babies and Rufus Hound’s sci-fi comedy, Hounded, for CBBC. He was responsible for BBC Comedy’s first commissions in live events (including Eddie Izzard’s Laughs In The Park & Tim Minchin’s Comedy Prom for BBC Two, and The Edinburgh Comedy Marathon for BBC Three). More recently Jack has overseen the development and production of a range of comedy and entertainment formats for Channel 5, produced an original studio sitcom, Bull, for UKTV and devised, written and directed CBBC’s online comedy series, Animal TV. Jack is currently attached to direct his feature-length screenplay, Operation Julie, co-written with Ryan Cull, and recently completed a role as Series Editor on Season 8 of CBBC’s multi award-winning historical sketch show, Horrible Histories.
