Martha is a young Welsh female writer for TV and theatre. She is currently developing original comedy dramas for TV with Build Your Own Films, Objective Fiction and Tall Story Pictures, and she worked in the writers room as a shadow writer for a recent BBC drama. Martha was one of 12 writers on the Channel 4 Screenwriting Course 2021, selected from a record 3880 applicants, and part of the BBC Welsh Voices cohort in 2022.

Martha is currently one of five writers-in-residence at Theatre503. Her debut play EXISTENTIAL FISH AND DREAD toured from London to Cardiff and Exeter in 2021-2022. Her second play, THE GHOST OF YOU, placed in the top 10% of a record 5167 submissions to BBC Script Room 2021 and was long-listed for development at the Traverse. An extract of this play was recently selected for performance at The Other Palace, as part of a scratch night programmed by Theatre Royal Haymarket Masterclass Theatre Trust. She was Chippy Lane Productions’ Writing Apprentice to BAFTA-winning writer Alan Harris, a position funded by Arts Council Wales. Her previous theatre credits include short plays VERA JONES at The Old Red Lion and HOW LOAN CAN YOU GO? at The Pleasance, Islington.

In 2021-22, Martha wrote and directed series 2 of BAFTA-nominated interactive crime drama game SCRIPTIC, which is currently available on Netflix Games.

Martha’s short film script FALLING APART AT THE SEAMS was awarded third place in the Women Over Fifty Festival short script competition 2019, and recently selected as one of three finalists from over 1000 entries to the Screen & Story Film Festival short script competition.
