Prior to writing full-time, Max worked in the music and entertainment industries for twelve years devising advertising and marketing campaigns for live music, comedy and theatre. After publication of his first two novels, Hitman and The Fixer, he collaborated with actor/comedian Rik Mayall on his spoof autobiography, Bigger Than Hitler – Bigger Than Christ which spent six weeks in the Sunday Times bestseller chart.
Having turned to screenwriting, Max was commissioned to develop screenplays by a variety of television and film producers. Film credits include features: Act of Grace, Alleycats and The Ring of Kings. Current film projects in development include an adaptation of his own novel, Baptism, described in The Times as ‘a tense blockbuster with worryingly credible characters’.
