Daisy Goodwin

Daisy Goodwin is a WGGB-award-nominated screenwriter, BAFTA-award-nominated television producer and best-selling novelist.

After reading history at Trinity College, Cambridge, Daisy attended Columbia Film School as a Harkness Scholar. After graduating, she spent ten years at the BBC making arts documentaries, before leaving to join the independent sector. In her new role, she created a number of programmes, including GRAND DESIGNS and ESCAPE TO THE COUNTRY, which are now in their third decade on British television and, in 2005, started Silver River productions – which sold to Sony in 2011.

In 2014 she made the leap to scripted. Her first commissioned work, VICTORIA – an 8-part series about the early life of Queen Victoria for ITV and WGBH Masterpiece Theatre – ran for three seasons and sold to 146 countries. She currently has film and television projects in development both sides of the Atlantic.

Alongside her TV work, Daisy has written a memoir and three New-York-Times-bestselling novels – My Last Duchess (UK) / The American Heiress (US), The Fortune Hunter and Victoria – and has curated eight successful poetry anthologies.
