Charlie Brinkhurst-Cuff is an award-winning writer and journalist. She is particularly interested in telling stories that radically challenge perceptions of British life and rewriting coming-of-age narratives. Alongside screenwriting, she is currently working on her debut sci-fi novel. She is a former Senior Staff Editor at the New York Times and the former Editor-in-Chief at gal-dem magazine. She is the editor of the books Black Joy (Penguin, 2021) and I Will Not Be Erased: Our stories about growing up as people of colour (Walker, 2019) — and the editor and main author of Mother Country: Real Stories of the Windrush Children (Hachette, 2018).
