Robbie O’Neill

Robbie O’Neill is a working class actor and writer born and raised in Liverpool by a single mother. Having formerly worked as a manual labourer, Robbie studied acting at Bristol Old Vic Theatre school having lost his job during the 2008 financial crash, and is also a graduate of the Royal Court Writers Group and the Liverpool Everyman Young Writers.

He wrote the award winning short film “Seconds Out”, which was the directorial debut of long time collaborator, Philip Barantini.

He is currently developing a show with Wild Mercury and the BBC inspired by his experiences on building sites and is working with Stephen Butchard and Left Bank as a writer on a forthcoming BBC drama.

He lives in South London and is also a voluntary amateur boxing coach.
