Lauren Dark is a BAFTA winning Film and TV producer. She co-founded Vanessa Kirby’s Aluna Entertainment, in creative partnership with Netflix in 2021. She has spent a decade as an independent producer within some of the most successful British production companies, including Ken Loach’s Sixteen Films. She produced Benjamin Caron’s NIGHT ALWAYS COMES for Netflix in the US, a documentary by Academy Award winning filmmaker Joanna Natasegara, Michael Pearce’s BAFTA and BIFA winning film BEAST and Jack Thorne and Tom Harper’s political thriller WAR BOOK, which premiered on BBC4.
She spent four years as an Executive Producer at Film4, Channel4 television’s film arm, and whilst there commissioned Molly Manning Walker’s Cannes winning film HOW TO HAVE SEX and Executive Produced, amongst others, Florian Zeller’s Academy Award winning debut THE FATHER starring Anthony Hopkins and Ollivia Colman, and Rebecca Hall’s BAFTA, Golden Globe and SAG nominated film PASSING.
Lauren has worked at strategic and board level and as a volunteer with refugee rights charities, women’s rights organisations, homeless charities, youth arts organisations and recently co-founded The Impact Social with Martha Dark and Foxglove; a social change story telling incubator connecting socially conscious creators and storytellers from Film, TV, Theatre, Podcasting and news with charities, NGOs and non-profits.
