Jack Robertson

Jack in a BAFTA nominated writer and actor, raised on the coast of Newcastle in Whitley Bay. He started making student films before studying acting at Gateshead College. Jack has had roles on BBCs ‘Hospital People’, ‘Danny & Mick’ for CBBC and ITVs ‘Inspector George Gently’.

Jack is part of an exciting emerging scene based in the North East. With friends, he has created and performs in sketch show Metroland. They perform sell out runs at ‘Laurels’ in Whitley Bay, have two of their own series on YouTube, and in 2024 they took ‘Metroland LIVE: The Box’ to the Edinburgh Fringe, where it had a full sell out run. The Guardian featured their show in their top 10 Fringe shows of the year, while Rolling Stone featured them in their top 12 and said “Metroland make you angry that no one told you about them before.”

Jack wrote and starred in his own BBC short ‘Where It Ends’, made with Tiger Aspect, which was subsequently nominated for Best Short Form at the 2024 BAFTA Awards. He recently starred in a transfer of ‘Gerry and Sewell’ at the Live Theatre, Newcastle.
