Ryan J Brown is a writer/producer originally from North Lincolnshire. Named an ‘Emerging Artist’ to watch by GAY TIMES and an LGBT Trailblazer by Attitude Magazine. Brown wrote an episode of Netflix show ‘The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself’. He is the creator and writer of WRECK, an original 6x45min horror comedy series for BBC Three with EUSTON FILMS. Released in 2022, WRECK was hailed as “groundbreaking” by critics, and was picked up by HULU in the US, and was nominated for Best Drama at RTS NI Programme Awards 2023.
Brown has written and executive produced a second series whilst developing an original show with DNA Films / Apple which is now out to cast, he is also developing original ideas with Kudos, Quay Street Productions and Pure Fiction.
Brown is the only screenwriter to have been featured on the UK’s BRIT LIST twice consecutively and won the BAFTA Rocliffe award for queer crime drama WE ARE YOUR CHILDREN. A project which contributed to the reopening of a decades-old cold case.
