Oscar Sharp is a British director and screenwriter, based between Los Angeles and London.
Awarded a Fulbright and BAFTA scholarship, he attended the NYU Graduate Film program studying under professors Todd Solondz, Spike Lee and Darren Aronofsky,
In 2015, his short film ‘The Karman Line’ was BAFTA nominated and won the BIFA for Best Short amongst countless other festival prizes and became a viral hit. He was subsequently featured as one of Screen’s ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ and signed a one-picture blind deal with Tobey Maguire’s Material Pictures for whom he is writing and will direct and original science-fiction love story.
In spring 2016, Oscar and technologist collaborator created Benjamin, the world’s first AI screenwriter, and shot the first purely AI-written film Sunspring.
In Summer 2016, Temple Hill and 20th Century Fox acquired Ben Mezrich’s upcoming book ‘Woolly: The True Story of the De-Extinction of One of History’s Most Iconic Creatures’ for Oscar to adapt and Direct.
He is also developing features with Echo Lake Entertainment and SUMS.
