Adam Thirlwell

Adam Thirlwell, born in London in 1978, is the author of three novels, ‘Politics’, ‘The Escape’, and ‘Lurid & Cute’; a novella, ‘Kapow!’; and ‘Multiples’, a project with international novels. His work has been translated into 30 languages. He is the winner of the EM Forster Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and a Somerset Maugham Award; and has twice been nominated as one of Granta’s Best of Young British Novelists. His criticism appears in the Guardian, The New York Times and the New York Review of Books. He is the London editor of the Paris Review.

 

His short film, ‘Everyday Performance Artists’, starring Gemma Chan, James Norton, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and Shia LaBeouf produced for Random Acts at Channel 4, was directed by Polly Stenham in 2016.

 

Adam is currently co-writing a feature adaptation of ‘Lurid & Cute’ for Anonymous Content, developing an original television series for Warp Films, writing a spec screenplay and working on his fourth novel.
