Alessandra Gonnella

Alessandra Gonnella is an under 30 Italian/British Writer Director based in London. Trained at MET Film School and specialised at National Film and Television School, she’s the Writer and Director of several short films, including “A Cup Of Coffee With Marilyn,” filmed in London in 2019, based on the true story about a young Italian journalist, Oriana Fallaci, chasing Marilyn Monroe for an interview in the 50s. The short film received wide exposure and recognition, especially in Italy where it was awarded with the equivalent of an Italian Oscar as best fiction short film in 2020 by the Italian Union of Film Critics. From the short film, she developed the idea of a whole TV series about the early career of Oriana Fallaci and partnered with Minerva Pictures and Redstring Pictures; she went on to win the Best Drama Pitch award at MIA Market in 2020, and the series got a development and production order from Viacom, later Paramount+, the series will soon launch. She’s the creator of the series and writer and director of episode 6. She’s currently in development with Gaumont for another TV Rom Com adaptation, with Signature for a feature Rom Com.  She’s working towards her feature film debut, a Rom Com and a slate of a few more projects.  She’s also an occasional stand up comedian performing in London.
