Anna Jones is a writer/director. Her web series, My America (co-written with Jamel Davall) was described by Thought Catalogue as “the series everyone should watch before the election” and was an official selection at the LA Film Festival and SeriesFest, Colorado. She recently directed Death over Dinner for Topic/First Look Productions.
Anna has also directed numerous shorts, including The Mechanicals of Hemp (with Harry Enfield and Charity Wakefield); The Great Unknown (with Olympia Dukakis & Desirée Matthews); the Now What? trilogy for Brooklyn Seoul Productions (that played at over a dozen festivals worldwide) and the award-winning No Strings for Steam Media & Middle G Productions based on a poem by actress Emily Bevan (BBC/HBO’s The Casual Vacancy), seen in the official selection at the London Short Film Festival among others in the UK and US. Anna was a BAFTA LA Newcomer from 2016-2018. She is now based back in London and has several writing projects in development.
Before turning to writing/directing for the screen, Anna worked in the theatre in the UK and US for over a decade. Anna was born in London and studied at Cambridge University and the Yale School of Drama.
