Brian Kirk is an award-winning Irish director of film and television. Recent credits for UK and US television include THE DAY OF THE JACKAL (Carnival/Universal/Sky), HARD SUN (Euston/BBC/Hulu), GREAT EXPECTATIONS (BBC/PBS), GAME OF THRONES (HBO), BOARDWALK EMPIRE (HBO) and LUTHER (BBC). Feature film credits include 21 BRIDGES (Agbo/Huayi/STX), starring Chadwick Boseman, Sienna Miller and J.K. Simmons, and MIDDLETOWN (Green Park/Chapter 4/BBC), starring Matthew Macfadyen and Daniel Mays, for which he received IFTA nominations for Best Director and Breakthrough Talent. His upcoming feature THE DEAD OF WINTER (Stampede/Wild Bunch), starring Emma Thompson, Judy Greer and Marc Menchaca and produced by Greg Silverman and Jon Berg, is currently in post-production. Over the course of his career, Brian has been nominated for a BAFTA and five IFTAs and honoured by Brooklyn International Film Festival, Dublin Film Critics Circle and Galway Film Fleadh. He has worked with numerous Academy Award winners and nominees, including producers Martin Scorsese, Sam Mendes, Michael Mann and Mark Wahlberg; screenwriter Terence Winter; and actors Dustin Hoffman, Eddie Redmayne, Emma Thompson, Chadwick Boseman, Michael Fassbender, Carey Mulligan, John Lithgow, Vanessa Kirby and Kerry Condon.
