Ciarán Foy

Director

CIARÁN FOY is an award-winning Irish director and screenwriter of television and film. Recent television credits include two episodes of Mike Flanagan’s gothic anthology miniseries THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR (Intrepid/Amblin/Paramount/Netflix) and three episodes of twenty-time Emmy-nominated post-apocalyptic fantasy drama SWEET TOOTH S2/23 (Warner Bros./DC Entertainment/Team Downey/Nightshade/Netflix) from Primetime Emmy-winning showrunner Michael Berenbaum and Oscar-winning actor and producer Robert Downey Jr. His film work comprises three supernatural horror features and a series of celebrated shorts, including the IFTA-nominated FAERIES OF BLACKHEATH WOODS. His self-scripted debut feature, CITADEL, won the Midnighters Audience Award at its SXSW premiere before garnering ten further festival-circuit wins and BAFTA and IFTA nominations, including an IFTA Rising Star nomination for Ciarán Foy. It was released in US cinemas by Cinedigm. His sophomore feature SINISTER II, the sequel to the Ethan Hawke-fronted cult horror, was scripted by Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill (DOCTOR STRANGE, THE BLACK PHONE) and produced by Oscar-nominee Jason Blum under his Blumhouse banner. It was released internationally by Focus Features and eOne. ELI, his most recent feature, was released on Netflix by Paramount, Intrepid, MTV and Bellevue and received two Fangoria Chainsaw Award nominations. Ciarán has directed screen performances by numerous, celebrated British and American actors, including Oscar nominee Brad Dourif, Primetime Emmy winner James Brolin, Golden Globe nominee Henry Thomas, BAFTA winners Wunmi Mosaka and Adeel Akhtar, and SAG and Critics’ Choice nominee Sadie Sink.
