Jozua’s established himself as a versatile filmmaker known for making unique and captivating films and prime-time television. He’s the winner of several international and local awards, including the Platinum Remi Award for best short film (2018) at WorldFest Houston and the SAFTA Golden Award for best achievement in directing (2021, 2017 & 2015) as well as best feature film (2021 & 2022). Jozua’s main goal is to make work that is engaging , captivating and offers a fresh perspective.. Although his work tends to take on darker themes, Jozua’s personality is far from sombre and he’s known for his big heart and sunny smile. Technicians love working with Jozua as he has clear vision, and a keen understanding and sense of the photographic elements. Yet, he doesn’t allow this to get in the way of the actors’ performances. For Jozua, there is ultimately no divide between technical and performance direction, a hand in a glove, they exist to co-exist. He’s a proud dad with the cutest kids and somehow managed to get a ring on South African star, Rolanda Marais’s, finger. Jozua lives, happily, with his family in Cape Town. He’s also really tall and can dance (well, kinda).
