Jemma Rodgers

Jemma is a multi-award winning producer of landmark comedy and drama shows including the BBC’s cult hit “The League of Gentlemen”, Alison Jackson’s -“Double Take” “Victoria Wood with all the Trimmings”,Frank Cottrell-Boyce’s one off drama “God on Trial” and DC Moore’s “Not Safe for Work” In 2002 she set up Junction Films and went on to produce Irvine Welsh’s first original film for TV, C4’s BAFTA nominated “Wedding Belles”. Jemma & Junction Films continue to work across a large & varied slate of TV and Film projects and in 2018 she secured funding from STUDIOCANAL to develop her first originated story, a film sequel to the beloved family classic The Railway Children – “The Railway Children Return” co-written with Danny Brocklehurst. The sequel was greenlit for production by STUDIOCANAL in March 2021 and had a successful wide theatrical release in the UK July 2022 , U.S September 2022 and worldwide on digital platforms by Universal Pictures from March 2023.

Alongside The Railway Children Return, Jemma is also due to start production, in 2024, of the darkly twisted all female crime comedy – Keep the Faith, an original screenplay by Irvine Welsh & Dean Cavanagh with Karen Gillan attached which she has developed for cinema along with Creative Scotland and the BFI.

As an executive producer, Jemma has worked with Jane Featherstone at KUDOS TV , Nicola Shindler at RED PRODUCTION COMPANY, Murray Ferguson at CLERKENWELL FILMS and STUDIOCANAL developing projects with Frank Miller and Ian Rankin amongst others.

As a commissioner, Jemma worked at the BBC, heading up the comedy department out of Scotland and NI, discovering breakthrough talent Neil Forsyth, Richard Gadd and Aisling Bea amongst others.
