Executive Producer / Producer

An award winning and experienced producer who specialises in creating authentic, emotionally coherent stories, often culled from real life to make projects with a cultural relevance and a commercial edge.

Margaret set up Real Fiction Productions in 2020 after being head of drama at both DLT and STV, Scotland’s commercial broadcaster and largest production company. At STV she developed a slate of over thirty active projects encompassing feature films, through television drama series to comedy and children’s drama and gained the first new commissions in over eight years.

Her new venture, Real Fiction is developing a number of film and television projects including an original feature by Alexander McCall Smith currently in development with Screen Scotland.
