Alex is an award winning script writer for stage and screen. Her film Maid of Stars won best short at Manchester Lift Off Festival 2020 and won the audience choice award at InShort Festival, Poland 2020. Her play The Loves of Others won best Comedy play at Manchester Fringe Festival 2017. Alex is co-creator and producer of Vignettes, she runs a writers room each year with five new, established and emerging women writers to create six short plays, produced at Hope Mill Theatre Manchester. Her work has been produced for BBC radio 4 (Political Science 2014), performed at Hope Mill Theatre (Vignettes, 2020, 2021, 2022, Angel of The House 2016 and 2017) 53Two (The Loves of Others 2017) Oldham Coliseum (Harder Times 2018, Home. 2018), Manchester Art Gallery (Poetry Wonder Women Festival 2016), Stockport Garrick Theatre (Fellaz 2016) and screened at HOME Mcr 2019. Alex’s play WAVES was long-listed for the Bruntwood Prize for Playwrights 2022
