Allan Scott is a writer and producer.  He has written or produced films, ranging from ‘Don’t Look Now’ (Julie Christie, Donald Sutherland), ‘The Preacher’s Wife’ (Denzel Washington, Whitney Houston), ‘The Witches’ (Rowan Atkinson, Mai Zetterling, Anjelica Huston), ‘Shallow Grave’ (Ewan McGregor, Chris Ecclestone), ‘Regeneration’ (Jonathan Pryce, Johnny Lee Miller), ‘In Love and War’ (Sandra Bullock), ‘The Fourth Angel’ (Jeremy Irons, Forrest Whittaker) and ‘Kon Tiki’ which received an Oscar nomination in 2013.

 

He co-wrote and produced ‘Priscilla, Queen of the Desert – The Musical’ which has grossed several hundred million dollars from productions around the world as well as garnering many awards.  It is now in its tenth year of production with new versions opening in Paris, Germany, Korea, New Zealand and elsewhere.

 

IN PRODUCTION / PRE-PRODUCTION

 

Allan is producing the world premiere stage version of ‘Sophie’s Choice’, based on William Styron’s award winning novel.  This will be mounted initially at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival Theatre, Ontario, prior to its move to Broadway in Spring, 2018.

 

The world premiere of ‘Act Three’, a two-hander comedy written by David Ambrose, had its initial run at The Laguna Beach Theatre in California, starring Rita Rudner and Charlie Shaughnessy.  Further US productions are planned.  A French and a UK production are also being prepared.
