Anthony Wilcox

Anthony’s recent producing credits include the Michael Winterbottom films ‘On The Road’ (2016) and ‘The Wedding Guest’ (2018) starring Dev Patel and Radhika Apte.

As well as continuing to develop a slate of projects both as a director and producer, in 2020 Anthony will direct his second feature, ‘The First’, a satirical comedy set behind the scenes at an unnamed Premier League football club, that he also co-wrote.

During a fifteen-year career as an assistant director, predominantly in European independent cinema, Anthony Wilcox worked alongside a broad range of directors including Guy Ritchie, Ridley Scott, Lars von Trier, Edgar Wright, Anthony Minghella, Jane Campion and Lynne Ramsay. He has also enjoyed a long working relationship with Michael Winterbottom, in a variety of roles from 2nd Unit Directing to Producing. Anthony’s feature film debut as writer and director, ‘Hello Carter’, starring Charlie Cox and Jodie Whittaker, screened at film festivals worldwide and was nominated for Best Screenplay at the UK National Film Awards in 2013. His other directing credits include a one-off episode of hit comedy series ‘The Trip’ for BBC’s Children in Need and ‘Shield 5’ a unique thriller, broadcast entirely on Instagram, which became the most followed scripted drama on the platform.
