David Bloom

David’s first screenplay, written whilst still a student at the National Film and Television School, was fast-tracked into production and had its world premiere at Sundance. Since then David has worked with all the major UK funders and collaborated with some of Britain’s most talented Producers and Directors, including Dexter Fletcher and James Watkins.

He was named a Skillset ‘Trailblazer’ at the Edinburgh Film Festival and invited to the Berlin Film Festival’s Berlinale Talent Campus. His original screenplays have been selected for the prestigious Atelier de Scenario Franco-Britanique at the Dinard Film Festival, and MEDIA’s ‘Passion To Market’ Programme. He has also won the NFTS ‘Christie’ Prize and the UKFC’s ‘25 Words or Less’ Competition.

Before becoming a screenwriter, David was a successful Stand-up Comic, performing in several sell-out Edinburgh shows. Prior to that he worked at Picador Books in New York and for Ogilvy Advertising in London. He earned a First in English at the University of Leeds and a Fulbright Award to the University of California, Berkeley. He now lives in London with his wife, two children and Final Draft 8.
