David Keating

Writer / Director

Film director and screenwriter, David also directs theatre. His writing includes work for Columbia/Sony Pictures, Miramax and on Jim Sheridan’s script for INTO THE WEST with Gabriel Byrne and Ellen Barkin.

David has directed three features films, THE LAST OF THE HIGH KINGS, (Miramax / IFB) with Jared Leto, Gabriel Byrne and Christina Ricci. WAKE WOOD (Hammer / IFB, Vertigo) with Timothy Spall, Aidan Gillen and Eva Birthistle. And CHERRY TREE (MPI / IFB) — with Naomi Battrick and Anna Walton.

As a lecturer and project mentor David has worked with Oxford University’s Green Templeton College and run workshops as a BAFTA Guru, for Channel 4’s ‘Random Acts’, and for the Irish Film Board. He has been a mentor on script development programmes including Moonstone and Equinoxe.

David is currently developing film and television drama projects including the feature film TOO COOL based on the novel by Duff Brenna set in 1980s Colorada — a romance in the world of teenage car thieves.
