Emme Hoy

Recipient of the Patrick White Fellowship, shortlisted for the 2019 Bruntwood Prize and recipient of the Belvoir Philip Parson’s Fellowship, the 2020 NIDA STC Pathways Commissions and Melbourne Theatre Company’s Writer in Residence Program, Emme completed her Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Performance at NIDA.

In 2022 Emme’s original play, THE TENANT OF WILDFELL HALL premiered at Sydney Theatre Company’s Roslyn Packer Theatre and her play MONSTERS, starring Alison Whyte, opened at Malthouse Theatre.

Emme’s other plays include: SALEM (NIDA); STRANGERS (Bondi Feast); FIVE YEAR PLAN (Silent Theatre); ST JOAN (Additional Text, Sydney Theatre Company); LA FINTA GIARDINIERA (Queensland Conservatorium), and EXTINCTION OF THE LEARNED RESPONSE (Belvoir’s 25a).

Emme has original television shows in development with Moonriver TV and Netflix, Firebird, BBC Studios, Dancing Ledge and Val TV. She wrote episode 6 and 8 on Sally Wainwright’s THE BALLAD OF RENEGADE NELL as well as TOTALLY, COMPLETELY FINE for Stan and Sundance Now.
