Holly Lamont

Holly Lamont is a London-based writer, primarily working in children’s and family animation. She is part of the Emmy Award winning writing team for The Adventures of Paddington, working on all three seasons to date. She worked on Big Tree City for Blue Zoo and Netflix and both seasons of Pip and Posy, including the episode ‘Night Pip’, which was selected for Annecy, nominated for BAFTA (Best Pre-school Animation) and the winning entry for the BAAs (Best Children’s Preschool Series). She is currently the Head Writer on a new children’s animation series that she has developed with Magic Light Pictures.

In 2004 she graduated from Chelsea College of Art with a BA (hons) in Fine Art and was involved in a variety of projects in the arts, including acting projects, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, events for children and creating artworks for film and theatre.

Holly later trained as a primary school teacher and accepted a position in a local primary school where she worked for 10 years, taking on a range of responsibilities including Head of History, Head of English, Head of Art and then Assistant Head, overseeing the school’s curriculum.  On becoming a mother, Holly was inspired to pursue her love of writing, creating stories for life enhancing shows that her children could enjoy.

Holly’ s experience working with children, as well as being a mother of two, has given her an excellent understanding of how children play, solve conflicts, interact and learn.  This has been invaluable in helping her to create natural, relatable and funny episodes for children’s television.
