A script editor and drama development executive turned screenwriter, James was commissioned to write an original episode of Chinese language detective series JUDGE DEE’S MYSTERY (now streaming on Netflix). His screenplay THE LAST MAN IN EUROPE, dramatising the last years of George Orwell and the writing of Nineteen Eighty-Four, is in development with The Lighthouse Film and Television Ltd and was named on The Brit List in 2021 after receiving more industry nominations than any other feature script. His contemporary murder mystery SLEEPING LIONS was commissioned by Sky Cinema Originals and is slated for production in 2024.
