John Paul graduated from Queen Margaret university Edinburgh with a degree in Acting in 1998. He has remained an actor working extensively on stage and screen ever since. In 2016-17 he began collaborating with Mike Leigh for his film Peterloo.
As a writer John Paul has written episodes of the Scottish BBC soap River City. He has also written three plays, one of which, These Fragile Walls, made the list for the Bruntwood prize in 2011. He recently developed a pilot with Wild Mercury CHARLIE ANGEL.
He is currently writing another pilot, a psychological drama called NOT MUCH GROWS.
