Kelly Warburton

Kelly Warburton was raised in Co. Cork in Ireland. She has an Arts degree from UCC in English and Psychology and has an MA in Literature and Publishing from NUI Galway. She previously worked in publishing in London. And in 2015 she went back to complete an MA in Creative Writing.

For the past two years Kelly has been living in London is attempting to navigate her way through life in a big city while in her thirties. When not writing, she spends a lot of time covered in sudocrem in her pyjamas, pretending she has plans when really, she is watching Netflix while eating hummus.

Her first feature screenplay, “The Cancer Bus” was picked up by Savage Productions (The Hole in the Ground) and is now in funded development with Screen Ireland. She has written various shorts and two TV pilots. One of which, “Loophole,” is currently being pitched to broadcasters by producer Ruth Coady from Parallel Films [Brooklyn].

“The State of Us” is another project which she’s been developing with UK director Georgia Oakley, which quickly attracted the attention of actress Andrea Riseborough [NANCY] who joined the team as a producer.

Kelly’s previous projects have been shortlisted for: Sundance TV Lab 2019, Screencraft Film Fund 2017, 
 BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing 2018, Bumble Female Film Fund 2018, Shore Scripts Short Screenplay 2017.
