Kristian Phillips

Kristian Phillips is a writer from Port Talbot, South Wales.

He was part of the BBC Writersroom Drama (2020-21), was part of the Hampstead Theatre’s INSPIRE Scheme, and Theatr Clwyd’s Writer in Residence Scheme.

Kristian recently came Runner Up with Commendation for the Phil Fox Award for his debut play DRIFT, which was described by Enda Walsh as ‘A state of the Nation play’. It’s a darkly comic, solo show about grief, addiction and masculinity.

His pilot script SHUNK HEALER is a poetic drama with a mythical twist that follows palliative care nurse Lucy (50s), “a microwave meal, packet of Skips and a can of Stella kind of woman”, who finds herself on the run (and haunted by a wolf that only she can see).
