Meriel Sheibani-Clare

Meriel co-wrote episode 8 of THE CROWN Series VI with Peter Morgan entitled ‘Ritz’ which has been nominated for an Emmy and a Humanitas Prize. She is currently writing on a new project for Netflix with Peter Morgan. She has recently been in the writers room for YA show EVERYTHING NOW S2 for Netflix and LITTLE DISASTERS for Roughcut. She previously worked on THE CROWN Series V as Staff Writer and Script Executive and on Series IV as Script Editor.

Meriel has written two original comedy drama scripts for TV, NEW GIRL and SISTERHOOD (shortlisted for the Red Planet Prize 2018). She has also written the libretto for a modern opera, TELL ME THE TRUTH ABOUT LOVE, for Streetwise Opera, performed at the Sage Gateshead (Guardian ****, The Stage ****). She holds a BA in English Literature from Oxford University and an MA in Modern Literature from Queen Mary’s.
