Born in Manchester, educated University of Birmingham.
Michael began gag writing for, amongst others, Sacha Baron Cohen’s early ALI-G material. He co-wrote DEAD AIR, a black comedy short – Finalist, BBC Talent New Filmmakers’ Award. Subsequently, Michael was commissioned to write an original screenplay, PUTNEY HIGH for Branagh’s Renaissance Films and then commissioned by the BBC for one of the eight EVENING PLAYS before attending the BBC’s Writer’s Academy in 2007. Michael became a staff writer on BBC dramas including: EASTENDERS, HOLBY, DOCTORS and CASUALTY where Michael served as a core-writer for two years.
Michael has also had a Sci-Fi thriller series in development with World Productions, a comedy pilot script bought by Objective Productions, a 1 hour conspiracy thriller series commissioned by Keshet US under their output deal with NBC Universal and most recently Michael is working with Hartswood Films who have optioned a 1 hour black-comedy crime-series pilot script.
