Sorcha Kurien-Walsh is a screenwriter based in London. She is currently writing an episode of season two of RIVALS (Disney Plus), an adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s much-loved Rutshire Chronicles novels; she was previously staff writer on season one.
She was one of only ten UK writers selected for the BBC Writersroom Pilot Scheme; she was subsequently hired for writers’ rooms on shows for Netflix and Sky. She is developing an original project with Build Your Own Films, and has worked previously with Hartswood Films and BBC Studios Drama.
In theatre, she participated in the Soho Theatre Writers’ Lab and was a writer on attachment at the Oxford Playhouse. She wrote the script for the short film THE PINK PILL, which screened at the BFI Southbank as part of the London Indian Film Festival; it has been selected for numerous festivals and was longlisted for a British Short Film Award.
