Steve Thompson is an award-winning British screenwriter and playwright. He wrote and produced VIENNA BLOOD for the BBC, ORF and ZDF (now in its fourth series). He co-wrote and produced the biopic LEONARDO for Amazon, starring Aidan Turner, and created the show JERICHO for ITV, starring Jessica Raine. He’s written across three series of the BAFTA winning BBC show SHERLOCK and three series of DOCTOR WHO, and contributed multiple episodes to SILK (BBC), DEEP STATE (Fox) and UPSTAIRS DOWNSTAIRS (BBC). His latest projects are the Apple TV thriller PRIME TARGET, starring Leo Woodhall, and the upcoming Guy Ritchie series YOUNG SHERLOCK for Amazon. For his screenwriting, Steve has been nominated for three WGGB Awards and a British Screenwriters’ Award. His debut play DAMAGES was awarded the Meyer Whitworth Award for 2005 (Arts Council Best New Play). His second play, the Olivier-nominated WHIPPING IT UP, premiered at the Bush Theatre in November 2007 and successfully transferred to the West End in Spring 2008 before embarking on a sell-out UK tour.
