Tom Palmer began his career as one half of comedy duo TOTALLY TOM, which was nominated for the Edinburgh Festival Comedy Award, Best Newcomers 2011. He and Stourton subsequently wrote for TV including for COMMON GROUND (Sky), COMEDY LAB (E4) and LIVE AT THE ELECTRIC (BBC3). In 2018 Tom’s short film MAN OF THE HOUR (starring Charlotte Ritchie) was awarded ‘Best Short Film’ at the Cannes Film Festival’s Emerging Filmmaker Showcase. It was subsequently selected for over 10 major festivals and was recently bought by Disney in 2024 for their streaming service.

In 2019 Stourton and Palmer founded the production company TOTALLY TOM FILMS, writing and producing their debut feature ALL MY FRIENDS HATE ME directed by Andrew Gaynord. The film received accolades from various US publications including: ‘funny and menacing… a delicious, fearless dive into age-related angst’ NY TIMES [Critics’ Pick]’; ‘a razor-sharp ensemble piece that finds humor and terror in a common anxiety’ LA TIMES; ‘Exquisitely uncomfortable. Ferociously witty… wincingly accurate’ VARIETY. The movie was released in 2022 by NEON in the US and BFI in the UK.

Feature-films in development include the rom-com LIFE’S SO SWEET, with Nana Mensah attached to direct and THE IN LAWS (for Maven Pictures).
